    Computer Name

I'm a total computer geek and I know a lot of you are too and I'm sure some of you have names for your comuter(s). My SR1000 is Iris and my ProLiant is Emery. What's yours?

EDIT: Yes, I know that this thread has probably been done before; however, as I usually do before creating a thread, I searched for it and could not find it.

For a while I based my computer names around "aspie" e.g. old-aspie, a100-aspie and similar.

Why, do your computers have Asperger's?

I used to name my hard disks after my pets, but since moving to Linux I haven't given my hard disks any names. My computer's are named:

    chris-desktop
    chris-netbook
    linux-mint (that's my father's).

It's a surprisingly effective naming scheme.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
