ok, here's the rundown. i recently got my hands on an HP DeskJet 820Cse and hooked it up to my box that triple boots a minimal version of Ubuntu, Windows XP and Damn Small Linux. i've successfully gotten the printer to work in Windows (no big deal there, just plug in and go) but i'm struggling to get it working in my Ubuntu. the printer isn't supported by HPLIP but i've found some documentation stating that it should work fine using the community driver pnm2ppa which i've installed but to no avail so i'm hoping to get some assistance with it, so here's some info on the system. as i said it's a minimal install of Ubuntu 8.04 so nothing came pre-installed for me, including CUPS which i installed using Synaptic (hopefully correctly). any help is appreciated, and please, if at all possible try to keep any instructions terminal based as my system resources are limited, so i try to stay away from the GUIs when doing things of this sort. much thanks in advance,
Phil
