As light as dillo, but with javascript?

I am looking for a web browser that
can run on my (very) old machine. Dillo
works great, but it won't even log into
this site so I can post (javascript I
expect).

Is there a very lightweight browser that
accepts javascript?

what are the specs your working with?
i'm on 450mhz 256mb ram, it's a 10 year old laptop.

Whoa! That's high powered for me. I am using a 333 Celeron w/64MB RAM using the alternate command-line only install.

For a window manager I use LWM (The lightest I could find that would give me an easy way to open a terminal to open other programs).

BTW: I tried epiphany and it works great. I am actually using it right now. Thanks for the help!

hmm, how much memory does lwm use?
i'm using jwm, its using 1.4mb, but i got it tweaked, the default is much lower.

Search for Google Chromium PPA and add the repository and use apt-key to add the key.

If I had an old computer, I'd go command line only. The only problem with that is no problems with web browsers, and a few good apps that just dont have a cli alternative, but you'd be surprised how many do. I also found out there's a way to display pictures in the cli; You'll have to google that one.

But I'm more likely to run Puppy Linux if I were to have an old machine. I have a modern machine and still want to run it. I don't like the included compiler they had, last I heard about a year back. I'd like to get gcc in Puppy unless it's already available.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "links2".

If you run it with "links2 -g", you get the "graphical mode" with a menubar, images and tables; and yes there is a little bit of Javascript support, just enough to use this site (I think).

Even better, you can run the graphical mode without X running; should save you a bit of memory
