    anyone try the bitdefender?

    BitDefender User Guide

    I question its true need on a linux system. What do you think? probably decent to at least check files you download.

    This is another case where whether an anti-virus program is needed of not. Linux is no susceptible to Windows viruses. THe only reason I can see using anti-virus software is if you are running a email server that a lot of windows computers are connected to. If you download files from dodgy locations, and the files have viruses imbedded, I don't think you should be distributing the files anyway.
