    Problems reading DVD

    Hi All !

I am running Ubuntu Hardy and I have a strange problem when trying to read DVDs. The DVD was made on a machine running Windows Vista and contains image files in *.jpg format. This can be read back under Vista and all the files can be seen and manipulated.

I am trying to transfer these images to my machine but when I try to do this, I get the message "Cannot mount UDF volume". I have never seen this message before.

I have tried both simply inserting the DVD into the drive and also accessing this through Nautilus but get the same message in both cases.

Has anyone seen this message before and can they please throw any light on the matter ?

    Best regards to all ...

    Hi PukingPenguin ! ... (what a name ! )

Many thanks for your reply ... I had a feeling this problem was all down to those guys at Redmond ! I can read old CDs made 8-9 years ago under Win2k but ... made under Vista ... no hope !
Thank you again ! ... best regards ... Eric
