    I have the same problem. I switch to recordmydesktop a long time ago.

    Istanbul was working earlier for me quite well. But in the last half year I had a lot of problem with it.

    gtk-recordMydesktop looks working better. But the audio part is not excellent I downloaded the recent deb files from the URL in the earlier message. Perhaps it will solve the voice problem.
