Istanbul video recorder doesn't save

I want to record my desktop, so I downloaded Istanbul, I recorded a video, and the first time it worked, but after that It doesn't anymore. It just has it's icon in my system tray saying "in process of saving to disk"....so I just thought it was that program, I marked it for re-installation, thinking that would help, but it still does the same thing! so I began thinking it didn't like my computer, So I downloaded xvidcap screen capture, thinking that will fix the problem. when I open it up, It runs fine, But when I press Record it mysteriously closes as if I pressed the x....any ideas?

Istanbul was working earlier for me quite well. But in the last half year I had a lot of problem with it.

gtk-recordMydesktop looks working better. But the audio part is not excellent I downloaded the recent deb files from the URL in the earlier message. Perhaps it will solve the voice problem.
