Soulseek network: Less/no results @ linux (versus Windows)

When searching for specific files on the SlSk-network, the clients (Nicotine, Museek) at linux return very less or sometimes no results compared to Windows (SoulSeek).
I don't have any clue where to start searching for the reason. Does anyone know anything about this?

I can confirm this, there are definitly more results with the windows client. I wonder since years about, wiki says somthing about "coding errors or explicit circumvention of network rules in third-party clients". Maybe the protocol is not completly known, as far as i know there is no official specification.
