Hard drive noises in msi vr330

Hi, im using Ubuntu hardy and noticed a curious noise every now and then while running ubuntu, even if im not doing anything (no mp3 playback, no downloading, nothing). The thing is i noticed somone asked about something similar in the Guide for averatec 2370, but nobody replied, and given the fact that said averatec is the twin sister of my laptop i sought for information from that model, but couldnt find anything, help please!!!

How would you describe the noise?

like a clicking sound that lasts maybe a second , booted into win (yeah, i need it to work with a citrix vpn client, f""ck) and no noise is heard. But in ubuntu i hear it often enough to fear disk damage.
