mythbuntu-9.04-alpha6.1: grub not installed on HDD

Hello,

Have downloaded mythbuntu-9.04-alpha6.1-desktop-i386.iso, burnt a CD, booted from CD and ran the desktop installation routine.

The HDD installation went well, no errors reported.

When I tried to boot the new installation, nothing happened.

I checked the HDD installation and found that there was no 'grub' sub-directory off /boot.

Tried the HDD installation twice more from the CD and also after booting from a unetbootin-prepared USB stick. None ended up with a /boot/grub directory.

Neither the Live CD nor the bootable USB had a /boot/grub directory.

Any help appreciated.
