Question // LAMP stack on ASUS Eee PC 701 2GB SSD ???

Hi there! (maybe a newbie/noob question here)

I'm fascinated with this small machine (ASUS Eee PC 701 2GB SSD) and I just wonder if I could run my LAMP stack here? All recent server versions? CLI only! (I hope I could add more free hdd space from this, but how?)

(I'll use it...Um...say planning to have my own forum)

I'm not sure yet how efficiently linux was, so I will try playing on this one.
    ...practical/professional opinions maybe?

    Thanks!

Depends what you plan do to with it. If it's just for development or for a very small website, it will be fine.

Oh yes, for development and tests of a small website. Just starting out to learn free/open-source web technologies, specifically LAMP stack.

At least I don't worry now, if I might grab this tiny machine...

    Thanks for the reply!

If you have performance problems, you might try switch from apache to lighttpd or nginx.
I do not use Ubuntu any more, nor have I ever used Gnome. Therefore, I tend to give advice that is distro- and DE-agnostic, which, while perhaps not the easiest way, will allow you to move freely between machines.
