    removing packages

in another thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=88065 ) there is a command that u can remove custom installed .deb packages using dpkg, shouldnt synaptic, which i know is just GUI for aptitude, be able to read/find out about custom installed 3rd party packages that are not from the repositories...
ubuntu team should definitely make this add-on, or fix the bug (if there is one)

just a thought a guess... if its a bug, someone let me know plz
