After Sunday afternoon, I can listen to Last.fm via Banshee (same with Rhythmbox) on either my Desktop or my Laptop and they are both running version 1.4.3. Does anyone else seem to have the same issue?

Yeah I know pirated copy of XP is free, but so is Ubuntu and it's LEGAL!
last.fm now requires a subscription. maybe you need one?
I know they said that you need a subscription if you are outside of US, UK, and Germany. I live in the US, if they do require one, then that's just too bad.
For me I get the songs from my neighborhood and when I choose a song the player just sits there, the official Last.fm player fine though. Maybe I shall just use that.

Another reason then is that they added country reporting to their API and 3rd party players like banshee plugin require updating.
Although that would be a weird as it could be easily faked (then again, if they go by ips, it can be faked too. Just harder for the common person).
Ahh, makes sense that the plugin need to updated, thanks. Too bad with Rhythmbox it won't be as I hear that project is to stop. Thanks alot for your help.

They actually released 0.12 a few days ago... check getdeb
Awesome thank you, it's working. Now Banshee needs to fix it.

This whole locking people out from certain countries business is terrible, and spreading to other sites too.
YouTube have blocked all official music videos in the UK. Not that I watch them, and if I did I'd proxy but ya know, for the average user this is just not good.
Yes it really leaves very bad tastes in people, and not a very good business practice in my opinion.
