    Thumbs down boot fails at 'setting the system clock'

    Hello trying to get xubuntu installed on old compaq presario 500mhz 512mb ram but it fails at:

    Code:
    * Setting the system clock
    It get to this point an no further no matter how long i leave it?

    And yep it is connect to the net so ntp should work.

    any ideas?

    Go into the BIOS first and see if the time is right at all.
    In the world of Linux, who needs Windows and Gates...

    Got most of my golden beans at an auction on eBay (with a couple of free drinks).
