Skip "try prompt"/speed up startup for live usb

Hello.

I am currently using ubuntu on usb stick that has been created by 8.10 "Create a USB starting disk".

I have two question regarding this form of ubuntu.

1) Is there any way to skip the ubuntu main page which asks if I want to try it out, or other options?
2) How can I speed up the startup? (unetbootin, though lacking persistence, booted in 40 seconds on the same flash drive)

Qualified "No". What you are doing is running an ISO image from a usb stick. I believe the "persistence" is handles with a writable partition that the O/S refers to once booted, but you really are just running a live cd from usb...

not sure about this. I think this may depend on the type of installation....
