I don't have an iBook, but my 8.04 server boots without ethernet connection. Does your machine hang?

Re: How to boot with eth0 down?

No but it causes all kinds of problems, and really slows everything down. I know how to turn it off after boot but I was hoping I could simple add a command somewhere or comment some line in a file so it would not boot at all but still have access to it if needed. Should be the same for ppc and ... non ppc if you know something that works for you let me know and ill try it.
