    Motherboard compatibility

    Hi,

I am looking to build a new pc and have already decided on the AMD Athlon 62 x2 5050e processor.

As i want to be able to upgrade this in the future easily to a Phenom processor I want a ATX AM2+ motherboard. I have had good experiences with Asus in the past however their M3N78 boards seem not to work with ubuntu. I have tried the hardware database but it seems to only have the older boards and none that i can get in the UK easily.

The gigabit A7GM-S seems to suffer with a lot of faults.

Ideally I want nvidia integrated graphics but I may add a graphics card later.

I use this as my main pc and need it to be expandable ideally it should have

    min 8 usb
    6 sata headers
    firewire
    DDR2+800 support

What manufacturers boards work best with ubuntu.

Any recommendation for around £60 in the uk.

Thanks, it does appear that gigabyte seem to work well.
