    PowerGorilla products and Daru3

    Hi,

I've been thinking to buy this product:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Solar-Power-Gori...QQcmdZViewItem

This supposes to recharge a laptop using solar panels. My Daru3 DC input specs are:
    Code:
    * 19v - 3.42a 65W max
    The powerGorilla states the following:
    Code:
    Specifications:
    PowerGorilla Dimensions: 8.66" x 5.11" x 0.59"
    Weight: 1.39 lbs.
    Safety Features:
    Voltage limitation protection : YES
    Current limitation protection: YES
    Short circuits protection: YES
    Anti-discharge protection: YES
    Over-charging protection: YES
    Over-heat protection: YES
    Output Capacity:
    5V: 1000 mAh
    16V: 3.5A max output
    19V: 2.5A max output
    24V: 1.5A max output
I'm not an electrical person but does anyone knows if the Daru3 could be harm by using this Device with the Output 19v - 2.5a??

    Kind Regards,
    AK

From what I can tell the Power-Gorilla is mostly just a battery that can be used to recharge other batteries.

1000 mAh @ 5V would only be about 263 mAh at 19v which is far smaller than your laptop battery.

It would be more useful for something with a smaller battery like an MP3 player.

It is primarily meant to be charged up by plugging it in.
They don't say how long it would take to charge the Power-Gorilla from the solar panels,
but judging from the size of them it would be a looooong time.

Here is a link to a comparable device
