    LiveCD not working

Alright i tried ubuntu and it did not work, but after looking at the laptop i realized that xfce would be far better then gnome. I have a IBM ThinkPad 600E. When i use the liveCD and i boot without changing anything, i recieve this error
    Code:
[ 0.000000] BIOS age (1999) fails cutoff (2000), acpi=force is required to enable ACPI
    [ 6.508263] invalid compressed format (err=1)
[ 6.960938] Kernal panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,1)
and that is all it does no matter how long i wait, thanks.

    Re: LiveCD not working

The system is older so 8.1 may not run. xubuntu may also work if you have at least 256 mb ram. Here they have fiesty running- http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Instal..._ThinkPad_600E
If you install fiesty you will need to setup a swap and use boot options. If you try to install it use the alternate cd.

Puppy is another distro that has less requirements.
