I recompiled the 2.6.27-10 kernel from source to apply a performance counter patch. During the recompile, I copied over my existing config file with suitable changes to enable performance counting. I believe xen virtualization was enabled by default in the old config file.
After the kernel recompile, I observe that my graphics performance is terrible. I can start GNOME but scrolling through Firefox takes seconds to render and dragging windows around the desktop is jerky. Compiz does not work and I am unable to manually enable the ATI FGLRX driver.
My other kernel works just fine. Any ideas where to start looking?
