Is there an application to recover data from a USB flash drive. Help!!
Accidentally deleted the partition on a USB flash drive and I wonder if there is a recovery tool available.

Maybe TestDisk, http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk.
In the world of Linux, who needs Windows and Gates...
Got most of my golden beans at an auction on eBay (with a couple of free drinks).
Thank you taurus. I now made a document on how to use TestDisk and Photorec.

I hope this helps other who are freaking out like I was.
- If your hard drive is too large: You can recover files by type. i.e. recover all your word documents, then recover all your excel documents then all the PDF documents and so on (see the manual above, it's there. it's simple to follow).
- If your partition was deleted: Restore the partition.
!!!!! DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH YOUR HARD DRIVE !!!! you'll make things worse. Read the manual and then proceed.
* Partitions: The settings (these settings are written some where on your HD) of a partition are written to the hard drive when you create a partition. When you delete a partition the reference to the partion is erased, BUT only the reference, the actual settings remain somewhere on the hard drive. The rescue program finds those settings (somewhere on the hard drive and restores them. If you keep messing with the hard drive you could write over the settings and permanently delete them.
* If you deleted files and also deleted the partition:
1- restore the partition
2- recover your files
I have been asked to reload this file
