anti virus required?

I have recently started using ubuntu, but sometimes the keyboard doesn't work followed with the shut down/cancel....small window.
Do I need to install some anti virus, and if so, which is best and where do I get it?

Since you are asking a general question I am going to direct you to the sickies at the top of this forum.

The question is what are you wanting to use antivirus for ?

To answer your implied question, there is no known Linux virus which will cause a problem with the keyboard. It is sad that viruses are so rampant in some operating systems that you assume a virus is the cause of your current problem.
