    desktop-icon invoking main menu?

    Anyone know how to make a desktop-icon that invokes the main(gnome) menu?

    What command is needed ?

    You can't. Only way is to somehow get the menu bound to a key combo, then use xdotool to execute the key combo.

    Closest thing that came to my mind was something like a gnome-menu screenlet/desklet

    btw Kde4 has one called Lancelot
