new logo suggestion

Is just a draft but I think the gears are a little bit outdated...

If you like support the idea at the brainstorm..

Also with the O` from the oxygen icon would be a nice alternative.

Pls comment...

One more thing the colors are the first think to change..

As I commented in Brainstorm I think that cashew isn't the most popular representation of KDE.
I feel that big K would be better.

Erm... while I'm the first to agree the gear is outdated, I have to agree with Primoz. Oxygen O would *look* nicer, but Kubuntu is far more than Ubuntu + Oxygen.

This is really a problem of KDE itself needing an updated logo to go with their new Oxygen look.

Still, +1 for thinking creatively.

I present you the first two drafts...

Still a lot of work has to be done.

But this will be the starting point.

I want to assume a flow ( like at the twist icon) of yellow-gold "fluid" into the blue ring.

I don't want to set everything to zero but just refresh the previous implementation.

I must say that the new mock-up does looks nice!
And yes only one K inside the circle of friends.
Or maybe really O of oxygen instead of gears....

But to be honest I think that gears are here to stay...
Nothing can change them.
They are still a part of KDE logo.

I attached my vision, but I'm not really good with graphics and I used the
Kolourpaint to achieve this "mock-up" so it's really bad.
But it shows the point well.
