Question Just updated to 8.10 now only low res mode

Hello all and I hope that you can help me. I'm using my Widows laptop right now because my Ubuntu load on an Inspirion 9100 isn't working wright. Most everything updated with no problem but my issue is with the graphics. It won't let me reconfigure so it will startup properly. Says it can't find my configuration file when it starts up and makes me boot up into low res mode. I need to know how to reconfigure my video and monitor information. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you enable any restricted hardware drivers in the Ubuntu install?

System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers

In 8.4 I had the Broadcom one for my wireless and the ATI one for my video driver. Only the Broadcom one is there now.
