how to make a super user account

i need to make a super user account because when i tried to upgrade to kde 4.2 something failed and it told me to run a command but i cant run it without being a super user. plz help

use "sudo " before the command.

k did that now its asking for my password but when i type it in its not entering my password

It's designed to not show any characters when you enter the password.

It enters the password but it don't show that it enters the password.
means there is no notation of *, or dot or something like that.

awesome thanks guys. we'll see if i fixed the problem. hopefully i did.

so far so good on the 4.2 front only just loaded it up but no problems yet.

Right on. Also, if you need to invoke the super user to open a graphical program, use kdesu instead of sudo. That's the KDE-specific one. For Gnome, it's gksudo.
