New Pangolin & nano mouse woes

    Hi,
I just received my new Pangolin and so far I love it!
I went out and bought a "notebook" mouse, the Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Laser mouse. And I can't get it to work! Batteries are good etc. Do I have to install the software that came with it?

    have an awesome day!

Did you boot up with the dongle plugged in? I know that for some reason ubuntu has issues with that?....at least in the past.

Try plugging it in after you boot up. Does that work?

I found this for the V450. Kind of old, so not sure if it's relevant.

You cannot install the driver that comes with it, it's for windows.

For the most part peripherals like this usually don't have full functionality, and require the driver. I wish there was a wrapper for windows mouse and keyboard drivers. That said, they do work. Just not all buttons, all the time.

Advice for future purchases is to make sure it's 100% out of the box compatible before you buy. Some are even coming with Tux on the box

Great list of Mice that 100% work.

That mouse took a lot of tweaking to get it working in Edgy a long time ago...

Don't know if the fixes on that link will still work.

Know it is not exactly the same, but the V550 nano cordless mouse just worked out of the box.

Hi bgreenaway - I just got a V550 yesterday and I'm having a little trouble getting all the buttons working.. can you point me to a guide for this mouse, if you have everything working?

    Hi Anbog

Did not have any special instructions. It is working except for the switch windows button, which I can live without. Unfortunately, it looks like Logitech do not provide drivers for - or support - Linux.

I just got my Pangolin and use the same mouse. It has worked fine for me. I was wondering/hoping the horizontal scrolling could be altered to page forward/back instead. Anybody know if this is a possiblity?
