So does your script create a grub list that lists the different distros on bootup?

Dunno if it's grub, but there is a boot list.

    I can choose:

    UBCD
    DSL
    DSL (to ram)
    Puppy
    Puppy (not to ram)
    Feather
    Feather (not to ram)
    Feather (console)
    Slitaz
    Debian Net Install

For some reason the Feather options don't work, but I inly added feather because I had lots of room left, hence asking for Crunchbang

EDIT: That list is probably half innaccurate, but there is certainly a boot-loader with automatically generated entries.

Lite edition is probably better (it's around 450MB or something) since that leaves room for other distro's.
It would fall under "Ubuntu LiveCD". Just rename it (or better yet, create a symlink) to ubuntu.iso.

My script (among other things) generates the isolinux.cfg used for the ISOLINUX boot loader. Using GRUB would be possible, but most Linux CDs use ISOLINUX.

    Bookmarked.

Will try it out next weekend.

Could make a great rescue cd (gparted/supergrub,...) and mobile OS (puppy/slitaz, ...).

You can shove UBCD on there too, so it's pretty sweet.

UBCD + gparted or something + slitaz + puppy + dsl + custom rolled Slax still leaves a bit of room

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

If you please, how does one pass on "arguments" to the script at execution?

    I tried sudo ./multicd-4.5.sh -bmv

and the -bmv appear to have been ignored.

I wanted to omit balder freedos, omit memtest, and be verbose.

Would you please add a few examples of using these arguments in your instruction?

Otherwise, great script and ideas. Thanks so much for sharing this.

    Thanks.

    howdy all,

i was reading through this, and i found someone asking about grub. i asked the same, and a person named Saikee, was able to point me in a direction.

    my post is:

    HTML Code:
    http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-general-1/having-multiple-distros-on-a-single-flash-stick-719054/
i was able to get 2 out of the 5 distros to boot correctly. the errors i had are listed in the last reply on the thread.

    Re: multicd.sh - bug report on 4.5

As a bug report on 4.5, the newest version of Parted Magic
(which is nice as it supports ext4) does not appear to
work with multicd 4.5 as it will not boot -- unable to
find -- error and then drops to boot: prompt.

    version pmagic 4.0

    Thanks.

    Re: multicd.sh - bug report on 4.5

i have a problem. I could do every thing as written in the website. But after executing it just created multicd.iso file (1.8mb) inside the folder. How will you write all the mini distro in a disc. All distro combined is around 580mb (FreeNas, Puppy, Slax, Slitaz and Vyatta). For your info all are latest versions.
