HP TouchSmart TX2 tablet laptop remote control question

Hi, does anyone know how to access HP TouchSmart TX2 model's remote control? What I am trying to say it how to make setting so the button on the remote can be used by application such as VLC, MythTV and etc.

At the moment, it seems be able to turn up and down the value out of box. I am surprised I don't even need to install any of LIRC driver, but now I am not sure how to see if the rest of the button is working, and what is each button's key code before I use it in application.

I am running an Ubuntu 8.10 64bit.

okay I am bumping this up because I want to know the same for 9.10.

You can find the keycodes by using xev. Once the application is running, you can then press the buttons on the remote. From what I can tell, all the buttons are working. Just be careful with the power button. I can't remember which OS I was testing that button on (I was pushing the buttons in the dark and found the power button) but I found out quickly that the button worked.
