    Edit program files

Hi. I'll try to explain this as best I can. I finally found a .deb package loader to flash my FTA receiver. However my laptop is fairly new and does not have a serial and I have to use a serial to usb adapter. In the program for the loader,,it only list serial ports,,ie ttys0, ttys1, ttys2 right up to ttyS4. I was wondering if there was a way to edit the install files in the .deb install package to have my ttyUSB0 in the list as well,,which is where it says my usb-to-serial adapter is connected. Thanks.
