    Question Submenu Opacity

    Hey there,
I have just installed Ubuntu and depite the terrible looks I really like it. But how do I change the opacity of the submenu? I changed the transparency of the main panel by simply using Properties and then I tried using the CompizConfig Setting Manager, without any success though.

On one website it says the effect can be achieved by adding “Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu' to the box in the Opacity tab..but i guess that's not up to date anymore.

So anyone got an idea how to change it?

    Thanks very much

    Re: Submenu Opacity

It works on my desktop but on the laptop I don't have that option for some reason. I may be using a different manager or something on it. Here it is on the desktop along with the settings.

    Window Manager = Compiz
    Window Decorator = GTK

well I do have the options on my laptop, still it doesn't affect the transparency if I change the settings.

Is there any other application or something you can use to change the panel properties?

Not that I'm aware of but then I don't play with the effects that much. You just happened to pick one I'm using.
