Disabling Firefox Totem plugin visual effects?

Open Firefox and point it to an audio file that's recognized by the plugin and it will be played in the browser and a visual mess (aka effects) will be displayed.

You can easily disable them in Totem but how can I disable them in the Firefox plugin? Besides being useless, I don't think they're very cute.

I've got the same problem as
    I noticed from System Monitor

Any resolution to this? The visual effects are distracting (if not simply dumb) and waste CPU. Thanks!

I'd like to bump this. The plugin behavior is terrible and brings my poor CPU to a crawl. Anyone have any solutions?

Edit -> Preferences -> display Tab deselect the "Show visual effects when audio file is played" option.

    Hope this helps.

The question was about disabling it in the Firefox plugin.

I'd like to see a solution to this as well.
