In other news, this is all bogus because it fails to take into consideration that neither Emperor Palpatine nor anyone else throughout the Galactic Empire and New Republic (or, if one wants to be technical, the "Old Republic", either) uses U.S. Dollars or any other Terran currency. They use (have used) either Republic Credits or Imperial Credits.
So, in truth, what is the cost in R/I Credits for any given iteration of either the model of the Death Star? The first, or what I call "Tarkinian" Death Star was 160km in diameter. The second one, built in orbit of Endor, was 900km in diameter. This represents a roughly 563% increase in volume, and should therefore likewise represent a roughly 563% increase in cost.
So, can someone here please define what it is, exactly, that we're talking about?
Have you ever found something in the second-to-last place you looked?
If it seems like I am ignoring you, perhaps I am.

This link will introduce you to the Death Star:

The death star is both impractical and expensive, the empire never learned from that...
