    if you're opening a port to ssh into your box then denyhosts is great.

    I've installed it but don't understand.

    if you are concerned about security don't just install all the things people tell you. First research what those things do.

    If you have set up denyhosts properly, it should locally email you a list of denied hosts. Open a Applications-->Accessories-->terminal and type:

    Code:
    mail
    jim
