Don't understand error message

Using Xubuntu 8.10. I'm using a fileshare program and when I try to configure the auto shutdown feature, I get the following:

"System command "shutdown" is not supported or defined on this system. Check your settings in the file "sysmd.properties"."

Tried "sudo gedit sysmd.properties", but just got a empty file. Anyone know how I fix this? Thanks.

Which file sharing program? I google searched "sysmd.properties" and only windows solutions came up. Are you running utorrent via wine?

If so you would probably be better off using a native linux program. For torrents, transmission is a great client.
