Hi fellow Ubuntu users; I did I clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 on my laptop, all went great, found my wireless network and the other computers and folders on the HOME network , total of 4 XP systems - I then down loaded all the latest updates off the internet.
I decided to connect to my shared printer on the upstairs XP system via the wireless network; all went well found the pc and the shared printer and even sent a print test page – so far so good.
I opened a few of the applications on Ubuntu like Openoffice and set up the system to receive my e-mail. I then decided to connect to one of my XP systems to share MY MUSIC from it, but when going into NETWORK on Ubuntu it seems to have lost all the XP systems. I can still print to the shared printer upstairs, so the connection is still there – I just can’t see the other systems.
I tried rebooting the system with still no look; it’s a case of “now you see it now you don’t”.
Can anyone help? Cheers Jon.
