5 Cups of Ubuntu
When I turn my computer on, I can't go up and down in the grub menu to select different kernels or winxp. However when I get to the gui bit in linux the keyboard starts to work.
I am using an old mac keyboard.
And this is my kernel.

can you enter the bios?
if not then you will have to use a normal ps/2--usb keyboard.
ubuntu will recognize the mac keyboard as it is built to adapt to its environment mac/windows machine
