I used to be able to set different wallpapers on all 4 workspaces, but CCSM, Desktop Cube now only gives me the option for cube caps and skydome. Has this changed, or am I missing something ??

Never wade in water you're afraid to swim in unless it's the Linux pond, cause there's always a life ring in the forums
alt-F2-->gconf-editor-->hit run
Go under apps > nautilus > preference
Deselect ‘Show Desktop'
then it will work.
Hmmmmmmmmm, I did that, and I do not have the selection in CCSM to do it, it only lists Cube Color, then Cube caps

after doing that go to wallpaper plugin(enable it) and add wallpapers.there is nothing to do with the cube
Thanks so much, could have sworn it used to be in the cube settings.

everytime I do that then go to wallpaper to apply wallpaper for different workspaces, I rotate the cube and the system crashes.
You do not have to rotate the cube to change the wallpaper, just click on wallpaper in CCSM, and put a wallpaper for the number of workspaces you have. I have posted a screenshot of mine here:
Attachment 101339
But as above, make sure you go to gconf-editor and disable the desktop.

I did all of that including unclick the "show desktop" option and apply wallpaper for different workspaces but when I apply or just before I go to the other workspace, my system crashes.
[solved] it turns out the latest update solved my problem as if ubuntu heard my cry yesterday
EDIT:Nope, turns out as soon as I reset, change workspace, system crashes. I give up.
