    Mint Install Problem

Okay I have ubuntu 8.10 installed with almost all of the Mint Apps.

This makes my system work and look great at the same time .

However I am having trouble with Mint Install... it is giving me this error...

The data used by mintInstall is corrupted or out of date. Click on refresh to fix the problem : syntax error: line 1, column 49
How do I fix this ...

Or better yet if someone can tell me how to remove software manager/mint install completey out of mint menu and put add/remove back in that would be nice .

What are you doing to get this error? Just trying to install anything with the Mint Install.

Personally, I would use synaptic or even ultamatix.

I am trying to let it load up and it gets the error.

I do also use stnaptic, but mint install like add/remove makes installing very very easy. Mint Install also looks good .

haha, fair enough. it's weird that it says "syntax error" in the code when it appears that you've used it before, error free.

    can you reinstall Mint Install?

I have only used it before on Linux Mint 6 (sorry I need to update my siggy).

I am making my own respin of ubuntu for personal use.

This is the only problem I have been having :/.

I would reinstall Mint Install if the terminal would let me... when I do sudo apt-get remove Mint-Install it says doesn't exist...

    Re: Mint Install Problem

Well I reinstalled ubuntu and got my problem solved..

However now add/remove wants to lock up lol...

It locks up after the message for trying to reload repos comes up.

If someone can tell me how to fix this I think my system will be totally fixed and ready =D.
