    GTX 260 problems in Wine

My GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 260. When I play Counter-Strike through Wine, the game flickers. This didn't happen with my old Nvidia GeForce 9800 GX2.

Try disabling desktop effects on kubuntu. I guess you are using KDE 4.x
I have the same video card and i use the repo nvidia driver (177 i think) and i find that under kde 4.x with destop effects, i can NOT watch any kind of video let alone play any win games. Disabling em seems to do the trick for me. My best guess is that there is a problem with direct rendering for kwins compositiong, but i'm just guessing
