I'm running OpenOffice already and I was wondering is there a replacement for Microsoft Access that will run on Linux? Preferably one that can read and edit Microsoft Access files as well.

short answer: if you really rely on access, or even have huge especially macro/vb extensive masks/forms for it, there is no easy replacement I know of, let alone a "drop in" replacement. try your luck with crossover office, otherwise use a virtual machine with windows or well ... windows
Thanks.
I can't use Windows at the minute since my OP has gone Unusable (Stupid Windows =[).
Thanks for the help anyway
Office 2003 runs very well under Wine.

mb_webguy: yeah parts of it do. unless you can confirm that this 100 % applies to access too, including the necessary scripting stuff and whatnot, it's useless. For example http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=9717 thinks it does not run ... let alon perfectly.
Eh... you may be right. I don't use Access much (and not at all on this computer), and I'm not sure I did anything but start it up to make sure it was working after I initially installed it a year or so ago. Word and Excel both work fine, though. Sorry.
