    Hardware and virtualbox

Don't know if anyone will know anything about this but I have almost no web connection (posting this from my g1... long story) and it is hard to research on a phone. Hoping someone out there knows whether or not I could use certain unsupported hardware via winblows and virtualbox. I assume yes but I don't know if windows will use hardware via linux. I have the happauge 1600 tuner card and have had no luck with the beta drivers without losing my nvidia drivers and I would love to watch tv other than what everyone else is watching. Is this at all possible?

    Re: Hardware and virtualbox

If you are asking if a windows installation inside virtualbox as a vm (guest) will be able to use a pci tv tuner card on a linux (host) then the answer is very much likley to be no. It may be possible with a USB TV tuner. Don't know if your card is supported in the linux kernel but shouldn't be too hard to find that out. [EDIT] looks OK, see here:http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/linux.html

Out of curiosity, what TV is not being watched by everyone slse?
