    Question about kubuntu-desktop package

Hi, some time ago I installed the kubuntu-desktop package. I had problems uninstalling it: it wasn't as easy as the installation. I had to delete all the k** programs manually, and also there was a thing that annoyed me a lot: when I was using GNOME, the menu showed also the kde applications.

These are my question: can I install the kubuntu-desktop package without having the KDE applications showed in GNOME? Can I uninstall it only by selecting the uninstall option in synaptic?

    Re: Question about kubuntu-desktop package

You can edit the gnome menu to remove the kde stuff you don't want, by right clicking on the menu icon and selecting 'edit'. If you installed kubuntu by installing the kubuntu-desktop package, then i think all the kde packages should be marked as 'auto removable' in synaptic, once you uninstall it. If that doesn't work, you can remove the qt packages, which kde relies upon, and that should clear out kde from your system.
