Monitor bandwidth usage by running apps

Is there an easy way to monitor bandwidth used by running apps?

Someone in my office is using a lot of bandwidth. By process of elimination, that person turns out to be me, but I am not running anything too unusual. I usually have Gmail, Pidgin, Dropbox, and XP in VirtualBox going. I suspect it may be XP in VirtualBox that is sucking the bandwidth, but I need a way to check.

Never wade in water you're afraid to swim in unless it's the Linux pond, cause there's always a life ring in the forums
