I'm wanting to install a newer version of GVFS and I see that Jaunty has package for it. However, if I install it from the Jaunty repo, it also wants me to install a newer version of libc6. Will upgrading libc6 to a newer version bork anything?

UPDATE:
So my curiosity got the best of me. I backed up my Ubuntu install with PartImage and tried installing the newer version of GVFS and libc6 from the Jaunty repo.
When I restarted the X server, my desktop was black and the mouse just kept spinning. I rebooted, and the same. So I guess I broked it.
BTW, PartImage rules. 10 minutes after my broken install I was back up and running.
