    Re: snd_hda_intel options database

Hi Guys, I have a strange problem on my Desktop - Motherboard P5LD2 SE - the system is randomly rebooting, when I tried concurrently to use Skype(making a call) and playing music (for example from youtube).

I have reinstall ALSA drivers, I tried all possible configurations(to use OSS, ALSA and PulseAudio Drivers), but unfortunately nothing seems to work for me....

Any idea how to solve the problem!??!

If this post is not suitable for this thread, please let me know.

Here is the info of my Audio Card:

In syslog, I get a lot of such messages, I don't know whether they are relevant to my case:

Hi I am with HP Compaq 6735s. It's work for me with the following line:

    options snd-hda-intel model=laptop

I have a sound with headsets and speakers as well. I don't have problem with the switching.

I got my HP DV3510nr to work with these settings also!
I had to select "HDA Intel Stac92xx Analog (ALSA)" for all my outputs in the sound preferences.
I first enabled the "Play Sound effects when buttons are clicked" option in the sounds tab of the preferences. This gave me and idea that the new settings were working. From there i changed the output device and did a test until i hear sound from all of them.
The main part was added the lines above to the alsa-base.conf file

Hope this helps anyone else with a HP DV3510 laptop.

Works fine, but the fifth and sixth channels are not detected and therefore cannot be used. I prefer '3stack'.

    Re: snd_hda_intel options database

I found that the given solution for the HP DV6 does not work for the DV6z version. I have figured out a partial solution that gets the speakers working, though not the headphone jacks.

    Configuration:
    options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m4 enable_msi=1
I also had to upgrade ALSA to 1.0.20 (did not check 1.0.19, but it definitely does not work with 1.0.18.)

    Edit:
I just checked on recording, and the microphone does not work, either.

Very useful list! Added a link to here from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto . Wouldn't it be convenient to maintain the whole list at the wiki instead of in OP's post? That'd allow anyone to improve on it.

You are welcome to drop this in a wiki if you want.Just post the link and I will add it in the OP next time I update it. Personally, I do not have the time or inclination to mess around in wikiworld.
