    WoW in wine... can't ctrl-click

I'm running WoW in the latest wine (1.1.13) and for the most part, it runs fine. The only minor problem I'm having is that I can't ctrl-click on an item to see what it looks like before equipping it. When I hold down the ctrl key, the cursor changes to a magnifying glass like it's supposed to, but when I click, it acts like a regular click (as if I wasn't holding down ctrl)

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure you have "Locate Pointer" turned off. You can find this in the mouse preferences dialog.

I experienced similar problems with WoW, not to mention that I was unable to split stacks and so forth.

As such I went out on a limb and installed the Official Wine "Ubuntu" .deb from Wine HQ.

I had read somewhere in one of the WoW threads, cautioning people against using the official Wine debs as opposed to the Ubuntu offering, though I cannot remember why.

Nevertheless I've experienced no problems whatsoever, since doing so.

    Cheers.

I'm running the latest wine from winehq...

I have found a workaround, though... the right control key works as expected, it's just a little awkward to use

Can I take it then, that the left ctrl key does not play the game then?

    1. Go into Preferences --> Sessions and uncheck Visual Assistance

    Reboot
