What do you think of Axcrypt

Wanted to know what people thought of Axcrypt.

Was looking for a good way to encrypt a single file. It's for use on an external hard drive.

It's a windows program, you would be better off with something Truecrypt, that works on both Windows and Linux.

besides, just encrypting a single file does not make the orginal content of that single file to be encrypted in modern journaling filesystems.

Id use gpg for single file encryption. You can use an asymmetric or symmetric method, plus gpg is multiplatform.

Axcrypt works, but as pointed out above, any single file encryption tool will leave a copy of the original on the disk, so its utility is questionable and it only works on Windows. TrueCrypt is better if you want cross platform ability.
