Question Where have feisty powerpc binary repositories gone?

I've been running edubuntu 7.04 since its release on my beige powermac g3. Now it seems the software repositories have vanished. I get results similar to the stuff below whenever I try to reload the repositories for apt or synaptic. Can anyone tell me why?
    Thanks - Junglepig

Feisty has reached the end of its life cycle. Repositories for it are closed. -- Upgrade to Intrepid Ibex or Hardy Heron. -- And yeah, I totally loved Feisty too.

but repositories are present for other architectures, just not ppc.

If you are still using Feisty, or any "end of life" Ubuntu release you can change your sources list to this archive http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/. If you want to have a look around click on ubuntu > dists and locate your version on that page.

Re: Where have feisty powerpc binary repositories gone?

I'm glad to see that link to old-releases !
    http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/

For many, Feisty was a golden classic release for PPC before the more modern changes to xorg and whatnot started to take place, although I wouldn't ordinarily recommend running it now.

However, depending on the situation and security aspects, Feisty might still be a viable option for those who just can't get their machines to behave and don't mind running older software.

You'll still have to manually edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf in some situations, but you'll see the classic fully-populated xorg.conf file which one can use with the older solutions presented here and in the ppc forum archives.

It might even be used as a diagnostic technique to move forward from - even though xorg.conf transplants from Feisty to more modern releases aren't always word for word compatible - but it can get you in the ballpark.

While it isn't ideal to run Feisty now, for those that have no other choice, this might be one solution.
