Hello,
I've been trying to use my external hard drive in Ubuntu 8.10 and so far it has not worked. I can see the USB hard drive icon under computer:/// but when I try to open it, it says:
This hard drive was my old hard drive from a Toshiba Satellite 2455-S305. It is 60 GB and it is enclosed by a hotdrive case, which I bought separately to house the hard drive. The casing does not have an on/off button. It turns itself on when the USB is plugged into the computer, when the light is blue it means it's working properly, when the light is red it means it's not working properly (right now the light is red). Since I dual boot my HP Compaq tc4200 tablet laptop with Windows XP Pro Tablet Edition, I did not have this problem in windows.UNABLE TO MOUNT EXTERNAL 60 GB
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
I tried to search for a solution to this problem on the web and at least one other person has the same problem, though with a different brand of hard drive. In one of the forums he/she was told to run "fdisk -l" in the terminal, so I did that too and this is what I get:
Can anybody help me?
