Can I trouble you for a fresh dsdt.dsl without any changes?

Not yet. I've came up with the same results you did. Most of them seem to be Windows related, and probably not used by Linux anyway. Do you have any errors in your dmesg output? The kernel may still be working around them without any adverse effects.

My windows and Linux works just fine. It is the OSX Snow leopard having a lot of problems. I use Chameleon "simulate" a mac book, so I do not have much errors. However, the sleep and speedstep etc do not work properly, and a proper DSDT suppose to fix them.

    Anyway, here is the dmesg:

Re: HOWTO Fix A Buggy DSDT File

I don't see anything except for a ntfs partition that needs a file system check. I doubt this is dsdt related. You might give the OSX forums a try.

Re: HOWTO Fix A Buggy DSDT File

Then we need to get a copy of your current DSDT and save it in your home folder with this command Code:
    sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.dat
I ran this command and it returned:

    sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.dat
cat: /proc/acpi/dsdt: No such file or directory

I am working on installing 10.4 on a friend's Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983. I have to add noacpi and acpi=off just to get it to boot but am unsure how to find this dsdt file. Any help would be appreciated. I am not sure what other information is necessary but I can follow explicit instructions if you would be willing to help.
